What to expect
Strategy over strength
The Dye Course is the sole semi-private course at Barefoot and the property’s toughest overall test. It uses Pete Dye’s familiar visual intimidation: native grasses, strong angles, demanding water hazards, and bunkers that make a safe target more valuable than maximum distance.
The full course stretches to 7,343 yards, but H&H players use the assigned White and Green boxes shown beside each name on the schedule. Range balls are included, and Barefoot asks guests to use the Dye range during the 30 minutes before their paid round.
Round-specific game plan
- Get one drive safely in play before the second partner becomes aggressive.
- Choose the drive with the best approach angle—not automatically the longest ball.
- Once the drive is selected, each partner plays his own ball. Know which gross score can still produce the lower net.
- Favor the middle of greens. Short-sided misses around Dye complexes can turn into large numbers quickly.
- Confirm both gross scores and the team’s net result before leaving each green.
Course character
Fairways feature GN-1 Bermudagrass, approaches use Tifdwarf Bermuda, and the greens are Champion UltraDwarf. Expect firm visual edges and different textures around the landing areas.
