What to expect

A tougher opening nine, then familiar ground

The MacKay / Cameron combination is rated 71.9/134 from Blue, 69.5/126 from White, and 68.3/123 from White/Gold. The White yardage is approximately 6,041 yards; the final H&H field used White, White/Gold and Gold tees as recorded in Squabbit.

MacKay opening nine

MacKay begins with water and demanding approach angles. Its par-5 seventh is a signature hole requiring two forced carries, while the eighth and ninth create a difficult finish with water, creeks, bunkers, and deep two-tiered greens.

Cameron closing nine

Cameron brings back the water-lined short par 4s and peninsula par 3. By the afternoon round, club selection and disciplined targets matter more than trying to overpower the course.

Round-specific game plan

  • Both partners hit every shot and choose one location after each pair of attempts.
  • Put a safe ball in play first whenever possible; the second player can then attack.
  • Honor the same-lie rule when placing both balls.
  • Team pops are shown on the receiving side of each matchup. Enter the gross team score and let Squabbit apply net.
  • Hydrate, eat, and rest between rounds without delaying the 1:55 PM start.

Three keys

How to score here

Choose for the next shot

The best-looking ball is the one that leaves both partners the clearest next attempt.

Finish the first putt

When practical, the first putter should leave or make a safe team score before the second attacks.

Manage energy

A smooth, steady afternoon beats forcing shots late in a 36-hole day.
